I’m Late! I’m Sorry

Sounds familiar? Well, I don’t think anyone intentionally wants to be late. But we are. There are 2 kinds of people 1) I want to be early! 2) I want to be right on time. The second group are the ones that usually show up late. Those people don’t want to be early because they may have to get things started in the office or they are concerned that they will have to make small talk with people around them until their time. They just want to show up right on time for the appointment or right when they are to start work. But things can go wrong.

Time is the equalizer for us all. Both groups have the same opportunity to do what they wish with the time that we have. Unfortunately, things happen that change our timeline. We spilled something on the floor, the baby had an accident, the car won’t start or has a problem, or the babysitter didn’t show up on time. Lots of unplanned things can happen and not entirely or at all our fault.

Are the ones usually late, the ones to get let go?

The problem is that when these things happen to the ones that plan on being early, they just get there closer to on time. The second group, you know who you are, are the ones that are late. I don’t think these people wake up and think “I’m going to be late today”. “I’m going to be late to work or class just to show them I can”. No, we have the best of intentions of showing up right on time, it’s just that we think we live in a perfect world where things always go as planned. And to your benefit, things usually do go as planned. It’s just how much lateness can the world take. If your late once, then make a plan to be maybe 5 minutes early. Hopefully you won’t have to make the coffee? 🙂 And as always this is just one man’s opinion.

Sincerely and God Bless,

JOMO
