LIV v PGA

What’s the difference between being paid an exhibition fee for showing up and improving ticket sales and being paid from a large pool of money to put on an exhibition. Nothing really.

PGA professional have always secured appearance fees. Now LIV is just doing it on a bigger stage. Yes, LIV golf is an exhibition tour. Paid for their brand. Can’t blame them for making more money than they ever earned or could earn. But the country club boys, 90% of Pro golfers had family access to great practice facilities and coaching, have really messed up the PGA. Now it just about the money. Worst TV ratings than ever and less competition as ever.

PGA pros are individual contractors who have to be a member in order to play. Yes, they have to pay an entry fee, but most are decorated as much as a NASCAR entry, and some have equity backers. No wonder they can have a swing coach, agent, travel secretaries and most have a sports phycologist.

I think it’s still funny to watch pros miss a 30-foot putt and then stand there and look flummoxed. I’m happy I can close enough to have a 30-foot putt. Professional sports can do almost anything they want when enough money is up for grabs. Streaming and equity sponsors are money makers. Only thing left is put it on the NASDAC. A fractured sport is less than the whole and somethings are not going to survive. Let’s see who’s first to go. And as always, this is just one man’s opinion

Sincerely and God Bless,

Jomo
