Pickleball, Corn Hole, or Frisbee Golf?

How we have transformed the sports landscape! Forget NFL, MLB, NBA, and NASCAR. We are on a trajectory to make backyard games into respectable and professional sports. Even the Frisbee Golf Pros have caddies to carry around their frisbees. Sponsorships are gaining momentum and of course out of work celebrities. Even pickleball has a professional name, PPA.

So what’ s next? The IWA, international washers association? The PYDL? (Pro Yard Dart League) :). How about Olympic Slip and Slide competition. (This could open an entirely new generation of competitions with the different slides now available).

Follow The Money

Are we just running out of things to occupy our time and money? Or is it that we are becoming bored and tired of what has been around. Have major sports become stale? I know the PGA tour has. MLB attendance was up only 1% this year while the population increased 0.5%. NFL popularity is still strong as 2023 figures attest with a 7% gain in viewership.

Basically, it is sponsors looking for more ways to increase their brands and improve eye contact. Just look at Wham-o Frisbee, It’s not just the same old red disk to throw to the dog:) New disc golf courses being built in beautiful settings and nice big indoor arenas for Pickelball! So what’s the message. Get out in the backyard and create and have some fun!! You never know when your game could make you the next Millionaire. And as always, this is just one man’s opinion.
